Announced in January and scheduled for release in early February, and now they have been pushed back to March 13th. These 5 different Goofy Through the Ages Funko are a bit of a mystery. We thought we could break down what each one is about as there is no real information on the Funko website about these ones.
Goofy 1932
Let’s look at the oldest figure in this list, Goofy from 1932. This one is easy to figure out because according to the Fandom Wiki, May 27th 1932 was the debut of Goofy as he appeared in Mickey’s Revue. Another important fact is Goofy was first known as “Dippy Dawg” and used that name in this debut cartoon.
Goofy 1944
Moving on to 1944, we found out that Goofy used to star in a bunch of “How to” style cartoons starting in the early 1940’s and many of them featured sports. How to Play Football was one of many videos created, if you would like to read more about this short story head over to IMDB.
Goofy 1963
Time to figure out what this 1963 figure is all about. Looking at the super hero uniform he is wearing along with the “SG” letters where there might normally be a Superman “S”. Its easy to say this Funko Pop! is all about SUPER GOOF. After more digging we find out Super Goof was the secret identity of Goofy right after he ate Super Goobers (also known as peanuts).
Goofy 1992
1992 brought the beginning of the Goof Troop animated series in which Goofy was simply a single father raising his son Max Goof. The orange shirt and blue pants shown on this Funko Figure are right on par with what Goofy normally wore during this series of 65 episodes. Goofy 2019
Time for the last entry in this fun time we had revealing what all these Pops were based on. Sporting his cool shades, this figure celebrates the 87th anniversary of the big Goof and his evolution along the years that was featured by this popular YouTube Video.
