Series Details

Main Story (Film Adaptation)

The central storyline closely follows the animated movie:

  • Belle, a bright and independent young woman in a small French village, feels out of place among the townspeople.
  • Her father, Maurice, gets lost in the woods and seeks shelter in a mysterious castle.
  • The castle is home to a prince who has been cursed and transformed into a Beast, along with his servants, who have become enchanted household objects.
  • Belle takes her father’s place as the Beast’s prisoner.
  • Over time, despite fear and misunderstandings, Belle and the Beast grow closer.
  • Meanwhile, the arrogant hunter Gaston plots to force Belle to marry him and later leads a mob to attack the castle.
  • In the end, Belle confesses her love for the Beast just before the last enchanted rose petal falls, breaking the curse and restoring him to human form.

Additional Content

Some of the 1994 comic issues included:

  • Short side stories featuring characters like Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip.
  • Lighthearted adventures set during Belle’s time in the castle.
  • Expanded moments that weren’t shown in the film, giving more character interaction and humor.

Tone and Style

  • Faithful to the animated film’s tone: romantic, adventurous, and comedic.
  • Bright, colorful artwork in classic Disney comic style.
  • Designed for younger readers but enjoyable for fans of the movie.

Protect and Store

Comics can be very expensive so at the very least you want to protect them with a soft plastic bag preferably with an acid free backer board. Below I will link to some Amazon items for the better quality and trusted brands for comic book protection.

Bag and Backer Board Combo

I prefer BCW brand simply because the quality is usually better than the cheapo brand and I don't want to risk book damage. The picture shows its 50 pieces but you get 100 bags and 100 boards.

Storage Solutions

A BCW short box is shown but I prefer the long box and BCW provides quality acid free boxes. The Amazon Link will show a variety of boxes, any box is fine if the books are already well protected with bag and boards.
